A slightly toned down feel to this but still a great thriller that I devoured in a weekend. It's always good to revisit the characters of Grant County.

Sara's desire for revenge just seems a little out of character to me and I've had the feeling since the start of Genesis that I've missed something. To me Lena was a victim too and I just don't get it but then grief can do strange things to people.

Again, it feels like this is two books rolled into one, one erotic fiction and then a short "Anita Blake mystery". Whilst I don't mind steamy sex scenes in the right places they didn't feel like they had anything to do with the plot. An edited version would probably been a lot more popular. However due to a future plot line that intrigues me I will probably persevere with the series, they're not hard to read after all.

A shortish Anita Blake story without too much gratuitous sex. Back to the good old raising of the dead and some character development around Micah.

Heartbreaking. Being a children's book it was very simple and to the point but had me in tears.

I liked that the 'case' wasn't a supernatural one even though there were two vampires investigating it. A good follow up to what seemed like the end, though I believe this is the last one with Vicki in.

Another short but amusing read. My only complaint is they're just not long enough as Betsy really made me chuckle throughout this one. Back on par with the first.

Though they are fun books, I'm starting to think they really are too short and you need to read a few of them back to back to get any kind of satisfaction from them. I did like the addition of Betsy's half sister/daughter of the devil though.

You may start this book thinking you've missed something...well you have. There are 2 short stories that explain the sudden appearance of some extra characters, once "A Fiend In Need" is mentioned by the author at the the start but there was another, which was included the Bite collection of vampire stories, that explains about Sophie and Liam.

Although I was aware of the importance of the fossil records of the Jurassic Coast, I had never heard of Mary Anning before. So I really enjoyed the local history behind those great finds. Enjoyable and well researched historical fiction.

I'm still having trouble thinking of Savannah as an adult but this is sort of her coming of age book. I would have said this would work as a standalone novel right up to near the end where a knowledge of previous goings on would help make sense. Altogether a good fantasy crime mystery novel.

Oh and the ending is really making me want the next book to be soon...and of course feature Savannah.
