Iles is a favorite writer for a reason. This book is full of a lot of mess. In the end it seemed as if he threw in everything including the kitchen. Things kept going wrong for no real or logical reason -except for a writers twisted delight. Strangely it works. All of it comes together and shows the humanity of the characters. Even with the unbelievablity of the situation in how it grows, you are captivated by the story that’s unfolding. As you wait for things to make sense, you’re gripped by what’s on the page.
