I read the first one and when given the chance I read this for review too. I enjoyed it. The mystery was slowly revealed, as the story was pushed along more by what was going on between the characters. The characters, which I liked, were developed quite well. Though you often see them in groups or in pairs, they all had their own distinctive voices.Every roadblock revealed a clue, thought it never made it easy to draw a complete picture before the team did. This was a pretty quick read and if you are a fan of christian fiction, I think that this is one that you'd enjoy. This is the third book the Coastal Guardians series.

I was given a digital copy of this title, free. All opinions are my own.
I remember reading Game of Shadows a few years ago. I really enjoyed and have been waiting for something else by Lewis ever since. Even though Kelcie Murphy is not the sequel I was hoping for, I am super happy to receive this for review. There are so many things that I like about this middle grade . First, let's talk about the world-building. You start out in Boston but then you end up in the world of the Fae-divided into two different kingdoms. You have the Land of Summer and the Land of Winter. As kelpie discovers this new world, so do you. It is pretty easy to imagine and the magic system is unique. The magic and history is not just dumped on you. It's explained as Kelcie learns about it. She doesn't learn everything, just enough to make sense of this world and to understand what is happening to her. The best part of this book would be the characters. Don't get me wrong, the plot and pacing are excellent. But the characters are truly the heart of this story, they give you someone to root for and put hope in. I loved them sooo much. They are not perfect. They have their own individual strengths and weaknesses. When the monsters attack they band together and work like a team should. But any other time, on a normal day they fight and struggle to be a cohesive team. They have their middle school issues going on with each other and the other kids in their class. But Kelcie's team? They are the best found family and I wish that I was a part of it. This is a complete story. Yes, there are strings left to be explored. Yes, you can go deeper into the world for more adventures. I definitely want to come back to this world and these characters. I hope that there are more adventures and it's not a repeat of Game of Shadows. The mystery in this book is resolved, but there is definitely room for more stories to blossom.
