I was given a digital copy of this title, free. All opinions are my own.
This was a pretty quick read, mainly because it held my attention. It was hard to put down. I wasn't sure what to expect with the reverse harem, but I would say that this was a nice -and mild- introduction to this trope. I like all of the characters for different reasons, mainly their personalities. They're all different but they all work together. Which is good since they are supposed to be a team. While it was very annoying to listen to her gripe that vampires are evil and only want to kill, I was relieved that she didn't immediately become pro-vampire. She does have to reconcile the truth with what she's always believed- but even that doesn't happen overnight. She is definitely hot-headed, but she's also really good at her job. The mix of magic and fighting adds to the action of the story. The distinction between the types of vampires is interesting and makes it easy to see why Mel was mislead for so long, as well as believing the truth when it comes out. The magic systems are interesting as well, and I'm hoping that Lovelot expands on them in the next book. I want to hear the guys' stories and seeing how having twins (brothers) in the coven/harem works out. Hudson doesn't seem to mind sharing Mel with his brother, but I think that's kind of weird. But it's not me, so whatevs. Nico has his secrets and I'm dying to uncover them

This definitely reads as a first in the series book, and it does end on a cliffhanger. A poorly timed cliffhanger. While there are sexytimes on the page, they are a lot milder than what I was expecting, so I'm also hoping the spice level increases as the story continues. The second book is scheduled to release in January, and I am happily -impatiently- waiting for it.
