I read Royal Cat, the third book first while I was in Australia.

Royal Cat is the first one I read and the idiosyncrasies (especially the sexual pecadillios of the residents of Empty Creek) make the books. For such a small community there sure is a lot of activity: Horse Days, Elizabethan Faire...
