This was actually really interesting. I had no idea how the author will ever spin the
immortality
sub-plot in an interesting way, but it was actually woven-in into the story in an interesting way. Want to read Books 2 and 3 already! Will be patiently waiting for them to be added to Audiable, hopefully soon!

Giving this Universe a second go as I never progressed past Book 1. Still a really good story, really liked the worldbuilding!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 45%.
This one is a bit better then the main series, but I still DNFd it about 45% into it. I do like the change of pase and the characters are OK, I am just not into Damsel In Perpetual Distress narratives, not really my thing. If the Author will ever write anything else, I will check it out as I like her style a lot I just intensly dislike that this book is just a side dish for the horrible series the Authors husband wrote and not even it's own thing, the narative voice here is hijacked by an right-wing agenda and it sadly really shows!

This was a very slow burn kind of a story, but it was good. The ending epilogue really made me emotional.
Was surprised that trans men were not mentioned at all, I though it was relevant to the story but I was not able to see even one story exploration in here regarding their fate. Intersex persons were mentioned only once and a trans woman had a story that was important to the plot so there is at least that! Excited for book 2🤞

Glad I can get my Audible credit back for this one. Christian prayer, Do Not Tread On Me flag, useless, a-political pregnant wife who is clueless, harbouring and hollering about agendas and that people are ruthless killers in the SHTF... these are just some of the issues I had with this book and mind you this one in the first chapter, don't even want to think what was written later on.
I will continue to the Prequel of this series written by the wife of the author just to be fair, but I will not be co tinting this series. DNF!

Actual rating 2.5 Stars

Really disappointed, as it ended up being a LitRPG which is not the genre I like.
Will not be continuing with the Series.
The book cover is quite pretty though.

I was happy with this instalment despite the repetitiveness of it all. Mental Health was handled OK but left me questioning the amount of research put into it. The ending was very opened and sounded like there are more parts of this story in the future but nothing materialised as of beginnings of 2022... I hope there will be more still as if not the ending is much of a cliffhanger which is a bit annoying!

This book was amazing! Maybe I went without these beloved characters for too long and it influenced my rating but I really liked this instalment and very much hope there will be more written in this Universe! Was it predictable at times? Yes. But sometimes I just want something relaxing and wholesome and this book definately delivered in that respect.
