 It took four books but I’m finally getting into the series. I’m way more invested in side characters than I am Aelin but that’s fine at this point. I was going to rate this a three star but considering I cried I think four times I am giving it four stars.

 This is getting five stars because Chaol deserves five stars. Man went through a lot this series… hell just in this book.

 This may end up being my favorite book of 2024. First of all, I have a soft spot of Loki and all the references to myth were amazing. I listened to the audio book and the voice actors were amazing.

I love touch her and die mentalities and when I get to see the follow through it’s even better. The ending though made me love this book even more. I lost it. I had to call a friend and like try to explain it and my feelings like a crazy person. The words “I’d be the whole problem…. And I would make it worst for everyone around me” came out of my mouth because I was so emotional. I love it when a book can do that.

TW: I would offer a TW for anyone bothered by on page death of children. It isn’t super detailed but it was enough to get an emotional reaction for me so I’d rather put that out there.
