Vonnegut narrates the effects of disregarding your passions and family for the sake of a political body or ideal through Howard Campbell Jr., formerly a US spy uncover as a Nazi Propagandist during World War II. Throughly a humorous read with a flare of a seriousness.

Malaise is encapsulated in to Didion’s writing. A unique experience of short chapters with vignettes of dread, with hardly any  good things happening, makes for a tragic ending.

My introduction to Vonnegut’s work. Compelling exploration of the consequences of war and, generally, the effect on the human in traumatic situations.
