I would love to see more books with this cast of characters!

While the minor age gap (sophomore and senior) wasn’t my favorite thing, watching Mary interact with her friends and Alex, each one helping each other figure out life (a really scary aspect of growing up) was one of my favorite things. And I loved that each character had a distinct personality and interests outside of their group and that the group embraced each of those.

I really enjoyed this book in the beginning, the characters had awesome chemistry and the plot made me want to keep reading, but I felt like it was too long and the middle became a bit repetitive. While I enjoyed the ending, I felt like I had to force myself to finish it.

Mallory and Nolan’s chemistry was amazing from the first page they meet. Each game they played against each other or talked, had me on the edge of my seat. I wish I could’ve gotten even more of the two of them together, especially at the end. While the way it ended was a smart and new way to end it, I wanted more definite answers.

I also loved the way we were given hints as to why Mallory originally changed her life course instead of being told right away.

While this isn’t the best book I’ve ever read, this is the book I needed at that moment. I wanted to yell at Bee when she was being dumb and I loved watching Bee and Levi’s interactions. Also! That plot twist got me (which is rare!) I was not expecting it!
