A great second in a series. The interactions between Andrea and Nevermore were really great. Blurring lines between friends and rivals was a nice spin on the standard evil villain takes over the world story.

I really loved the mention of lands from previous books (no need to read them first, but just little easter eggs so far). There were just a couple of time where I felt things were a little over or under explained in ways that caused a little hiccup in the flow of the story. I can't pick a favorite character, because I love all of them for so many different reasons (even the bad guys).

I really enjoyed the story, the quest for vengeance and to topple a king. I wanted to know more about the lore behind it all though. I feel like a lot of it was glossed over, and I don't feel an appropriate amount of respect/fear towards "the enemy" as the society in the story does.

A bit of a typical "movie star/fake marriage" romance combo. It was fun visiting Whiskey Creek again, but I missed seeing the star of the prequel novella.

This book is hilarious. I loved Andrea and Mrs Oh. A very satirical superhero story, not revolving around standard heroes and villains, but around the executive assistant for their organization. A ton of unique twists on the superpowers seen repeatedly, it was refreshing, exciting, and a good laugh.

While I really enjoyed the journey through an Underworld with lore unfamiliar to me (Diyu was a fascinating place), I have always struggled to relate to Mulan, and I think that may have made it more difficult for me to really get into her story.

I really loved this story. Gothel was such an amazing character - even as a "villain." It was very interesting to see more of the Odd Sisters history as well. I'm very curious to see what happens to them as the series continues.

I loved the lore built into the story regarding the seadragons, the tattoos and companions, the magic and people of the book. Hanalei was just a little too perfect at times. She didn't seem to have any real growth compared to the Sam and the other characters. It was just a little bit of a let down.

My favorite of the series so far. I loved how Meg developed throughout the book and how the author tied several other myths into the overall story as well.
