Definitely a graphic novel worth reading. It's short, but it packs a real punch.

This books sort of reads like a how-to graphic novel for women in strict religious cultures who want to get around the no sex before marriage rule. It touches on feminist issues of gender roles and sexual norms without being to in your face about it. There where some parts where I was confused as to why they were added, but it was a quick read that wasn't a complete waste of time. I'd recommend for those who loved the [b:Persepolis|9516|Persepolis The Story of a Childhood (Persepolis, #1-2)|Marjane Satrapi|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1327884892s/9516.jpg|3303888] series.

I used to love this tv series as a kid. The book didn't disappoint in terms of plot,
but I'm sad Anne didn't go on to get her B.A.. I just know it's what Mathew would have wanted.

One thing that may throw some people off is the fact that Anne is quite the little chatterbox. If you don't like long winded speeches from characters this is definitely not the book for you. However, if you want a sweet and mild read I highly recommend that you read this book.

I enjoyed Leav's artwork, but her poetry wasn't my cup of tea. Her works seemed a bit too simple and flat. However, there were some good short stories i would have liked to see expanded like Sad Songs.
