an incredible play that is accidentally feminist. very humanistic in its content and yet it had explosive reactions when it was released.
truly amazing, quite short and definitely a must read.

sobbing. how am I supposed to get over this?
I'm convinced tjr can't write a bad book.
I didn't think I'd be able to connect with the story at first because of the way it is written (interview format) but I am surprised by how emotionally connected I was to the story. I think that tjr has always done a really great job at taking very real, very relatable emotions and building these complex characters with so many layers that, despite it all, you can't help but root for and mixing all of that together to create such masterpieces. I thought this book might get a bit repetitive or may be similar to the seven husbands of evelyn hugo, given that they're both about fictional famous people finally going on the record about their life, but it was a completely different experience and I'm so glad.
can't wait to go and listen to all the songs from Aurora now. love how much hardwork and dedication tjr put into creating the album as well.
gut wrenching book, def would recommend.

why do I do this to myself
this was so sad
but tbh the epilogue felt like it was unnecessary and ruined the book a lil for me. I wish the author had left it out

I LOVE this duology SO MUCH. I cannot believe how incredibly immersive the author has made this reading experience. no wonder the characters were adapted into a series. I can't get enough of this book ahhh!
reading this book was one of the best decisions I made. I love it so much and already miss the grishaverse and all the adorable Crows.
maybe it's because I already knew Matthias was gonna d1e (my friend gave me spoilers), or maybe because of his very limited presence in this book but I didn't find Matthias' d3ath as emotional as I would've expected. I was actually more disturbed when Jesper got into a scuffle and the chapter ended on a cliffhanger. maybe it's because of which characters I connect with more emotionally.

absolutely loved jesper's character development in this book. inej is so mommy fr.

"The blood you spill is the blood of kings," seethed
Dunyasha
. "You are not fit for such a gift."
...
Inej raised a brow and slowly wiped the blood of kings on her trousers.

Ilya couldn't believe what he had been reduced to. He was...infatuated. It was disgusting.

fun, easy read but the amount of smut was kinda jarring. the rest of it was pretty sweet tho so it was cool lol
they were both so in love with each other, I am so single

Shane looked up at him, still laughing. His whole face was crinkled up: eyes, nose, freckles. Ilya wanted to grab embers from the fire and smash them into his own eyes because he could not bear to look at this adorable, crinkled, happy face.

"I'm a business man," he'd told her. "No more, no less. " "You're a thief, Kaz." "Isn't that what I just said?"

this book surprised me. it was an incredible read, full of sharp retorts, unlikely alliances and bravery that comes only when you have nothing to lose. I usually find it hard to get into the world that a fantasy novel creates but this book made it so easy to be entranced by the Grisha and the Fjerdans and the thieves and everyone else. I understand why there's a show related to this series now that I've read this. can't wait to read the next book in this duology. would highly recommend!
