It was fine. As What Moves the Dead is to Fall of the House of Usher, Mexican Gothic is to Haunting of Hill House. I preferred What Moves the Dead.

It moved along quickly and I like the main character's voice (which is good, since it's third person). Honestly, I'm not sure how much I'll think about it later. I do like a monster story, though. I had a few people say they really enjoyed the series as a whole, so I've got the next two on hold in Libby.
