The Christmas Crush by Noelle Douglas

This book had a cute, classic Hallmark Christmas kind of feel to it and was a pretty enjoyable read. I loved the small town vibes, Lawrence's relationship with his Grandmother, and how much of the book featured cookies.

I thought the author did a great job of fleshing out the character's unique situations and the reasons behind their reactions to each other so it didn't just have a meaningless miscommunication conflict but actually worked through what the issues were.
The only problem I really had with the story was Elena's job. It was difficult to suspend disbelief enough in how this situation would have gone in real life and buy into the idea that they could both succeed, and I really struggled to get past her actually asking him to help her as if it was a reasonable thing to do.

I love stories about reading, writing or publishing so this was an automatic want to read for me.

I had a few reservations initially because being scornful of Romance books is a red flag to me, but I thought the author dealt with this aspect of Aiden's character well. I also don't love enemies to lovers when one of them is a lot meaner than the other and this almost veered into that but again, it was managed well.I think this is really at the heart of what made this a great book to me, both characters had such real, genuine differences that tipped into flaws and conflict on numerous occasions but the story gave them lots of room for growth and addressed the issues while still being true to their character.

As a whole I found this to be a delightful romance to read, I loved Rosie's family and friends and really enjoyed the MFA setting.

I received a copy of this one Netgalley.

This book skillfully built up little twists creating a unique and interesting story that has both a satisfying conclusion and intriguing hints for the further series (assuming there is one). I really loved the concept and the unexpected aspects of the world building.

I initially found it a little hard to get into, the distinction between Connor and Holly's chapters was blurry and a bit confusing at times, but either it improved or I got so sucked into the story I no longer noticed. I liked the characters, though honestly Holly and Connor's interactions with each other were a bit overdone and annoying at times. Mostly I think probably it just needed a bit of a stronger structural edit, which I did read the ARC so could be improved in the released version

Really enjoyed the twist on fake dating, the small town involvement and Caleb's family. The romance was better than the first two books as well.
In The Weeds by B.K. Borison

Little bit too much lack of communication to not have some very frustrating moments, but still held together as an enjoyable read and I liked the characters

This book is a bit ridiculous, but it was fun to read and the characters are real cute.

This was fairly generic but solid writing and fun to read.
