Did not finish book. Stopped at 16%.
It's the exact same as the first two books. I'd rather not read the same book with different names for a 3rd time.

I wasn't the biggest fan of this one, personally. The most annoying thing that I can't get over in this series so far is that in both novels the horseman is changed by a woman they become obsessed with and then she becomes pregnant and they live happily ever after.

Yes there is other stuff that goes on in the book. But the bones of the story (no pun intended) are lacking.

War comes through, raises the dead to help kill all humankind. In the process I takes people captive and forces them to kill with him as his army. Through it all he refuses to harm Miriam, whole also keeping her captive and not allowing her human interaction. He stalks her with his dead until he convinces her to love him. Then she forces him to change and love her by taking away his purpose. Baby. Happily ever after. The end.

Disappointing.

Favorite Quote: It's a strange feeling, being vulnerable around someone who's both hurt you and tended to you. Page 16, line 4.

OK. So I just wrote a whole review and then deleted it, so here it goes again.

Overall I really enjoyed the spin on the story of the Four Horsemen. This is of course the first book in a four book series.

Thalassa did a wonderful job creating the world and building the characters up throughout. I wish the characters were more memorable for me, but they just aren't. Otherwise the tale was well thought out, and well written. I would most definitely recommend this one to others as  one time read.

Tropes: Sword & The Stone retelling, Enemies to lovers

First off, I suspect that this will turn into a true enemies to lovers in the next book of the series. This one is suggested towards the end.

This was well written and well thought out. I am super excited to read the next 3 books in the series. A beautiful fictional world filled with magic, creatures, and gods. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is into fantasy or romantasy. There are two spicy scenes, and both are mild. I suspect spice will increase throughout the series.

Overall, Briar Boleyn does a wonderful job weaving a fictional world that you can immerse yourself in and believe is real for just a bit while you are reading. This is not like other books I have read in the genre and I am really impressed. Definitely pick this one up!

Tropes: Cozy mystery, domestic abuse, who dun it

Overall I did enjoy this book. It is not my favorite read for sure. I enjoyed it because there were lots of cute/funny parts. It was heartwarming as well. I would definitely recommend it as a 1 time read.

The ending was very satisfying because everything was wrapped up nicely. I also had no idea that that is how it was going to end, which is a plus. The twist at the end did surprise me. Overall it was super cute and enjoyable.

OMG. That is the first thing I have to say about this. This is historical fiction, and not usually a genre that I would choose to read. I am so, so glad that I decided to stick with this and read it.

This follows the story of a young Jewish woman, Eva, during Nazi riddled France during WWII. Eva learns who she is throughout this story, and helps many Jewish children along the way.

This book will make you feel SO MUCH. I have cried and cried. The story is heartbreaking, but I feel like it is a good one to add to your list of read books. I will never regret this book, and Eva and Remy will forever live in my heart.

I think the hardest part for me with this is that, although this is a work of fiction, there are many stories just like this that were very, very real.

Heartbreaking and beautiful. I can't wait to read more by this author. If you pick this one up, be prepared to cry, and have a box of tissues.

Take the journey. I promise it is worth it.
