This quite literally has everything I hate in a book (and real life) and I went in expecting to dnf but boy was I wrong. I was well and truly hooked after the first few chapters (which were far too long compared to the rest of the book) and it had me smiling and giggling. It definitely could have been shorter with a bit more substance in the plot but I loved it anyway

I had high hopes for this as I’m a sucker for forbidden romance but it didn’t really hit. It became very repetitive very quickly and the random dumping of nicknames out of the blue honestly made me gag a couple of times. Maddie’s one bad encounter with someone in her industry and suddenly she doesn’t want the career she’s been whining about not ever being able to get back to for the whole book? Bffr. The conflict of James not making it to one dinner reservation, fml cry me a river. The brother’s reaction at the end made me want to shrivel up, talk about overreaction. Overall, not great.
