I've read a very similar plot to this in a domestic thriller many times before, but if you're just dipping your toes into thrillers - you might enjoy it. There's also a sequel, so it might be a double treat for you!

This book realy wanted to be Neuromancer, and failed. Unfortunately I no longer want to waste my time on it :(
