I am glad to say that this was even more exciting to read than the first one. The personality of Gemma was to die for being the best figure of empowerment. The starting was amazing and I read it in a go but towards the end it became a little too cheesy for my taste. But I liked the fact that the ending was symbolizing the chick-lit romance movies that some of the characters were so fond of. So yes I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!

Absolutely brilliant. Set in a small town, Under the Same Roof brought out the aspirations of people and how sometimes the decisions that we make are actually superficial and it totally differs from what we actually want. There was a point that I actually had to try very hard to control the tears threatening to pour. All the characters that were centred except the protagonist enhanced the plot to a great deal. It made us aware of how different people deal with adversities in their own way which makes it even more special.
It was so much more intriguing than the first part. And the mysteries surrounding the family of Ferguson's was even more interesting. Till the end I wasn't sure of the culprit and though interaction with each character gave out some hint.. It was really shocking when the twist in the story was brought to us. Once upon a winter night was surely amazing to read!
Perfect!
It was the best summation of a series I have ever read or so I think. It was simple and not much of climax was involved but it was calm and soothing to read. More than once I thought that could it be any better and the answer was no.

I went into this manga primarily because it has enemies to lovers trope and yes I wasn't disappointed by how the story went on.
Noel, the main character was in love with her best friend since the first time they met. So, when Elena starts going out with a boy, she wasn't able to keep her cool about it. During one such episode, she told about her feelings to a total stranger who turned out to be June, another best friend of Elena further complicating things. Turns out, even June was in love with Elena.
This manga is a mixture of glee and sadness. The main character, that is Noel, turns out to be not so likeable in the starting because of her haughty nature and constant acts of displaying jealousy and fights with Elena for not being her 'exclusive' friend anymore. But as the story progresses things become clearer especially why she is so salty towards Elena. Being in love without having being acknowledged for the love is what was shown here, especially the hurt and pain it gives the person. Apart from that Elena's character... well, I personally really loved her. It was extremely beautiful to see how she defended her individuality and also gave enough space for her friends to open up to her whenever they felt comfortable. Coming onto June, she appears literally out of nowhere in the beginning. Her character runs so deep that it was difficult to make it out in beginning. There were several themes discussed in this manga, starting from as little as being in love with your best friend, to childhood abuse and trauma. Every character had a different story to tell which was extremely pleasant to read! I really hope there are subsequent volumes for this manga!
Trigger Warnings: Abandonment, Childhood Abuse, Heteronormativity.

You know the feeling when you are unmotivated, thinking you don't have anything to read (that's a lie lol) an aren't motivated to pick up a full length novel? I went through the same feeling and I was so not in the mood to continue reading the books I am already reading when I realized that I had started this one ages ago and had forgotten about it. And I am SO GLAD I finally picked it up because oh my, this was I wanted to read!!!
You can say the whole book is divided into three parts, each one portraying a journey for every person out there who has been put down in life. I am not kidding when I say the prose was so effing good, I could feel the goofy smile on my face. Amanda breaks down the stereotypes and the 'competitiveness' that women are said to have against one another along with breaking down double standards that we see ourselves surrounded in. And more than that it spoke high volumes about loving oneself, about taking one's care without a care in the world because no, it is not a selfish act indeed. And apart from that it was about learning to respect yourself because you deserve as much respect as love from yourself! There are soo many lines I want to quote but at the same time I don't want to give everything away from this book (The struggle is real, trust me). But here's a small and absolutely lovely piece:
'you say lonely.
i say self-sufficient .
i say content dating myself
- your local spinster '
I loved this collection so freaking much! There's a possibility that many people wouldn't get too much out of it and there's a possibility that others would get so much out of it and I recommend everyone to read this because it contains a very good bunch of poems on empowerment that you couldn't get tired of reading! And did I mention that the author compiled a list of TW in starting? I really love when authors do that!!!! :)))
Trigger Warnings: child abuse, toxic relationships, sexual assault, eating disorders, mental illness, self-harm, sexism, suicide, trauma...

I want moreee!!! I mean I don't even know how to describe the poems written. They'll start of as being really enchanting and sweet and then they'll tear you apart. I mean there are quite heartwarming ones there too but all in all the poems are dark.
The one which struck me the most was The Monster Under The Bed. Its exceptional and very painful too. All the poems compiled here are driven by emotion so much that it was very difficult for me to separate them all. I want to discuss all the poems very much but I am so scared of spoiling them. I mean I am not sure how spoilers work in poetry, but for this particular anthology I would love if people went in without knowing the context beforehand because Paris did a wonderful job to make the readers feel. It starts with love potion which hits so close to home, and is very touching. The next title, I'm only a girl is again which sits with me very closely. I am sure that the title gives away some context, and you aren't wrong. It talks about how society views achievements of a woman.
One of the most lovely poem was High School Never Ends, I couldn't help but grin so widely while reading that particular poem! I would totally love to read the story of Marley and Katie <3 The next few poems after this one were truly wrapped me up in a spell of awe. As I mentioned, some of the poetry is dark and it hits you to at another level. As much as I loved the first anthology, I think The Winter War will be the one which I revisit the most <3<3<3
*TW: Self doubt, Kidnapping, Homophobia, Death, Discrimination, Child Abuse
