I can't actually begin to write without getting emotional and weird yet. This book meant world to me and surely after reading it, I gained a whole new perspective on various things.

P.S. I Still Love You

Jenny Han

DID NOT FINISH

I have made a decision. I'll try to read it again and complete it in order to actually have a real and unbiased opinion of this book.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
This review may, may not contain spoilers.

Honestly? I don't care if I haven't finished it coz I know I am not going to finish it. Like ever. I'll probably think thousands of times before I carry on with this book or the series in whole.

After reading To all the boys I've loved before, I thought it was enough. I mean "loveee" for two guys is fine. But the fact that one more comes whom she thinks she loves very dearly is just plain simple disgusting. I mean she definitely needs to sort through admiring someone and actually loving someone. It was, frankly speaking, very stupid.

And the fact that all she could ever talk about was boys. I mean fine. You want to be in a loving relationship but that doesn't mean that you have to only talk about boys. That are many other problems in life other than boys and relationships, for goodness sake!! And yes, I understand that it's a romance but seriously? You can have all the romance in a book but that doesn't mean that your life is just spent thinking over guys. That's sorely disappointing.

So yes. I liked To all the boys I've loved before enough to actually finish it. But this book was literally too much for me. Like wayy too much. The story could have been a bit more interesting (for me obviously) if the main character was at least someone I could look up to. But no. This wasn't the case and hence I hated it. From the freaking beginning or maybe a couple of pages later.

The the last line after finishing the book gave me chills, although I had read that particular line every time I opened the book.

'So, had any snow yet?' Dad says to the cab driver, doing that typical British thing of 'when in doubt, ask about the weather'.

Was I extremely excited to read this book? YES. Did it exceed my expectations? MAYBE.

PLOT - So, it is a typical YA Romance - the kind where the girl meets an amazing, hot, popular rockstar and doesn't know who he is. She is facing a lot of trouble in her life - especially her school as according to her, she is the clumsiest person alive. She has a gay best friend who supports her on every step and encourages her to start a blog (anonymous) and pen down her thoughts to calm herself. By doing this she gains a lot of followers who are able to connect with her. Then she is whisked away to New York and she meets Noah, whose real identity she doesn't know. There's is an instalove and then comes the tragedy.

Honestly? the plot doesn't not sound bad. Though I sometimes feel silly reading a book based on a plot such as this, I still picked it up because I knew I'll be instantly gripped in the story. And that did happen. But I won't lie saying that there weren't any flaws. First of all, The fact that it is written in the style of a typical romance made me sometimes gag. Now, I know that's me but it could have been less dreamy and more practical. Everything that happened here made me think - yeah right. Like that will actually happen.

'And maybe one day, when we all realize that we all feel the same, we can all stop pretending to be something we're not.

Second, I found Penny (the main character) not that interesting. Actually, the whole book sometimes felt like an alternate universe because I just can't believe that there aren't any moderate people. I was seeing either people who were total shit or people who were angels come alive. So yes, it kinda made me stop and think is this real?????

Third, I just couldn't stop comparing it with 'THE FRENCH GIRL IN NEW YORK'. So much of it felt like that, though not entirely. And then the only thing I did was to find minor flaws.

But, I am definitely eager to start reading the second part! What I liked the most in this book was the snippets of conversation between the characters that made me think "yes, that could actually happen." The characters had me confused. They were mature and immature at the same time. But what really gripped me was the writing style.

Sometimes you have to face up to your fears to realize that they aren't actually real.

Plot - 3/5 stars
Character Building - 4/5 stars

/Fun - 4/5 stars
General Idea - 4/5 stars

You know what?? Just go ahead and read it.

Geekerella was fascinating and marvelous! I mean I loved the character of Sage the most because that girl really was something. All the characters depicted some or the other characteristics which compelled me to read more about the them (well not all.. Some were really gross 😖). The plot in spite of seeming a combination of Cinderella and A Cinderella Story seemed a totally different one.

The starting was lovely especially the part where at one side Elle is complaining about how Darien is a dork and shouldn't be made Carmindor and on the other side Darien complaining about how he is being compelled to low down his fanboy instincts to gain popularity. The Idea of blog post (Rebelgunner) and introducing fandom to this book was breathtaking. The instances of fandom brought exactly out about how we fanboys and fangirls think and feel about a particular novel or series.

I loved the part where sage comes in like hero and saves Elle from the heart wrenching pain of not being able to go to cosplay.

I loved the part where Darien and Elle texts like they know each other fully despite never meeting in person or talking over phone.

I definitely love the part where Brian makes Darien realise what he is giving upon. And also the part where Cal and Sage get together and Cal realises that she is more than her twin and her mother.

And the part where Darien and Elle finally realise what role they play in each others life is like cherry on top of the cake.

I recommend geekerella to every nerd out there as by reading this they will actually know that they aren't crazy as a perfect fandom is definitely like the one portrayed in the beautiful lines of this book.

Loved reading it and I am waiting to start it again!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤
