If You Could See Me Now by Cecelia Ahern
5.0
You know how there are certain books that just make you feel utterly warm on the inside? It's one of those books.
This is I guess the third book that I have read by Cecelia Ahern and I simply love the way she writes - deep. Though it's romance you are reading but it's not the pain or beauty of the lovers that make you cry, rather it's other small yet extremely important things that make you cry.
I'll be honest, I was very reluctant to continue with this book when I got to know that it would be heartbreaking in the end. It had to be. But I still continued reading because I just couldn't not read it. This book hits you right at your consciousness and you are compelled think more from yourself - not for others but for yourself.
It talks about all the dreams, fantasies and expectations that one has in their childhood and how they transform us in our adulthood. It's the actions and circumstances around us that shape us and yes it's important that your hopes don't shatter because it's difficult to be built again.
It talks about how we shouldn't be afraid to pursue our dreams - to not remove colours from our lives but add more to them.
It talks about all the beautiful things that are present in a relationship, any relationship.
It talks about how there are times when things become extremely difficult - you lose people whom you never want to lose, they disappear from your life when you need them the most.
It talks about how to live and move on despite these difficulties and differences, to not give up and at the same time to continue BELIEVING.
And apart from this heavy stuff, it does include some beautiful times which make you smile like fool. It makes you laugh, cry and feel a pain deep within your guts. And don't forget - it makes you think which is just equally important. So yes, I loved it. I loved it so much that despite it being heartbreaking, I couldn't just stop thinking about it.
