I can always rely on a John Marrs book to be twisty, twisted, and propulsive. This one was no exception. The Good Samaritan kept me guessing as it kept going in directions I didn't see coming at all. And the ending was satisfying even though it wasn't completely resolved the way I usually prefer an ending to be. An easy 5 stars, I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I love this kind of thriller, not a lot of surprise twists but an intense story that had me on edge. Many trigger warnings for dark subject matter - kidnapping, sexual assault, violence, addiction. I'm absolutely going to check out some of this author's other books.

This was an ok read up to the ending. The surprise twist made no sense at all and actually took away from the story. And I loathe info-dump endings.

Thanks to GirlWithThePinkSkiMask's brilliant review that pointed me to this excellent police procedural. I found it a compelling story that kept me completely engaged from start to finish. I don't really do sci-fi either but I found the concept of using nearly sentient AI to assist with detective work to be utterly fascinating. Great plot, great characters, great writing - easy 5 stars.

I enjoyed this even more than A Flicker in the Dark by this same author. Well paced and eerily compelling story that touches on motherhood, mental illness, sleep disorders, trauma, and many other issues that affect women. I can't wait to read another book by this author. Also, this was a great narration by Karissa Vacker
