Irredeemable, Vol. 8 by Eduardo Barreto, Damian Couceiro, Mark Waid, Peter Krause, Diego Barreto

1.0

This volume was just a rushed rehash of the plot that was the previous 7 volumes. Plutonian destroys the world. The heroes screw up their attempt to stop them, ending in the death of one of their own. Bette's infatuation with Plutonian leads to her downfall. Plutonian's nemesis jumps into the body of someone he most cares about. And Plutonian is captured by a weapon that is as dangerous to humankind as it is capable of capturing a god.

I don't understand why this story was told at all. Has Waid run out of ideas? Should this story have wrapped up in three or four volumes? Probably.

I asked if the plot had jumped the shark in the previous volume. I think it has.
