this was a Deeply fine book πŸ˜‚

it had all the things/the opportunity for me to absolutely love it - enemies to lovers, one bed, slow burn, strong women, hot women, etc. - but for whatever reason it fell flat!

slow burn, when it's done well, is such a Delicious plot device. but sometimes, the slow burn is So Fucking Slow and it just doesn't hit the way i want it to. i definitely felt that with this book. when i was through half the book and the characters still had so much tension (and not the good kind) and were so at odds with each other and weren't trying to understand the others' point of view, i was chomping at the bit. i just needed them to fall in love pre-100 pages left of the book! or at least start to open up/admit their attraction to each other.i also don't love miscommunication as a plot device! and i feel like this book used it as a plot device a little bit. nothing too crazy but definitely a little bit.

i hope others like it!! it just wasn't for me.
