The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin

3.0

I'vebeen looking forward to reading this for a long time. Moreso after reading some other LeGuin's works, which I tremendously enjoyed. However, this was less sci-fi than I expected. It starts off as a political drama, followed by a sojourn through frozen wastelands, with romance thrown in. I supose I expected a lot more sci-fi than was presented or focused upon. I did immensely enjoy the chapters and hints which detail the Gethenian biology, mythology, and political systems and ideas. Would have liked to dwell on the lore more, I suppose.
