The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

4.0

I could definitely see how this might be annoying for some. It also makes way more popular cultural references than I like, and which are obviously outdated, but listening to the audiobook read by Ann Hathaway, it was pretty enjoyable. Hathaway does the reading exceptionally, and while it might appeal more to teenagers, I was still able to enjoy it and thought Cabot did a pretty good job. It was interesting to see how it differed from the movie (such as her dad being alive, Lana becoming somewhat sympathetic towards the end, and her grandmother smoking just to name a few). I might continue listening to the audiobooks (at least the ones narrated by Hathaway) when I'm in the mood for something light.
