I've always been a great fan of second chance romances. And this one definitely made me want to listen to Carrie Underwood the whole time. If I were to make a soundtrack for this read, it would be purely Carrie Underwood songs.

Sadie Hart left town to be a country singer. It was the dream she'd always wanted to pursue. And in order to fulfil a dream, sacrifices must be made. And for that, she left behind her family and her high school boyfriend, Royce Dixon, in order to live the dream.

But not all dreams do come true. A contract gone wrong led Sadie to return to Hope Springs to look for a temporary job. And who knows, maybe it's karma or whatever, but she lands a job at the Second Chance Ranch, which is owned by her ex-boyfriend.

Second Chance Ranch is a camp for the troubled youth, and is run by Royce Dixon and his mom. Kids that struggle through depression, anger issues and lots more are sent there. Dealing with kids, especially the young teens aren't easy, either they're so aloof or just wouldn't want to be handled. But when Royce sees that Sadie is very good with the kids -- and animals too! -- he's got no choice but to hire her, because he needs all the help he can get, even if he's still heartbroken with what Sadie had done years ago.
"Why, if it isn't the famous Sadie Hart. I'm still waiting to hear you on the radio. When's that gonna happen, by the way?"
I adored Sadie, she's such a sweetheart and she's basically THE person and animal whisperer. Everyone loves her, animals and people alike. He's an aloof character, bouncing along the lines of hot and cold towards Sadie, even to the kids. It's just that Royce is such a bitter bitch towards her. I mean, he was hurt and all, but Sadie was just a total sweetie and I couldn't bring myself to hate her character.

I loved how these two started to feel for each other once again when Sadie spends her time at the ranch. But a couple of times, it did get frustrating just because of Royce's hot and cold antics. Often times, I'm like "Do you want her back... or naw?"

But nonetheless, I love how this book ended. It's sweet, and a little on the bitter edge, because yes, there's always heart ache and pain, but of course, like any other sweet story, there's always a happy ending. And, I really want Cory's story to be up next.
