Oh how I love my neighbor Totoro!! it's a film that I watched as a Kidd so there is definitely nostalgia attached to it. Reading these comics brought back all those cozy feelings. I do think that these are only good to read if you have seen the film beforehand. something that makes studio Ghibli so iconic is their animation & voice acting. so when you read a comic you are stripped away from that. I don't feel the story is captured in comic form. But, from the perspective of someone who has watched the film and then read these comics, its a cute little read. that will resurface those feelings from watching the film. so if you are a studio Ghibli fan & want more ways to indulge in their work these are nice for that. but, as for a standalone im not so sure.
