The Nightly Disease by Max Booth III

5.0

Wow the owls. I thought this was a horror novel. And it is certainly horrific at times, but it's one of those 'genre-defying' tales that manages to blend so much goodness between the cover of a single book.
Isaac, our hero, is a night auditor for a hotel. If you read the introduction (and you must, it's worth the price of the book alone) you'll discover that Max actually was a night auditor and wrote this story while night auditing. The characters are colorful, and the weirdness starts quick. Before you can say 'knock-off-Nikes', the bodies are stacking up.
I've said it before, but must say it again, Max Booth III is the most underrated novelists ever. His books are just total fun and joy from start to finish.
