Some parts were really excellent and I did enjoy the middle the most. The beginning (first 50% almost) felt like nothing happened and I could've done without. My favorite bits were Nasuada and Murtagh. Eragon's character felt kind of insufferably "wise", Roran was so flat and boring. I am glad that

Arya and Eragon didn't end up together. The middle is what made me rate it highly, but the other parts really dragged it down.
