Braća Karamazovi - svezak I. by Fyodor Dostoevsky

So...I finished the first book and have mixed feelings. On one hand, the characters are well explored and there are some wonderful passages about life, religion, relationships and everything in between. On the other hand, the author is too present in the book, constantly announcing what he will do next, which sometimes works for me in other books, but somehow not here. The atmosphere is dark, as it should be, I think I just had too grand expectations. Not sure when I will read the second book, but certainly not now. But I am intrigued and want to find out more about certain characters.
