Caliban and the Witch: Women, the Body and Primitive Accumulation by Silvia Federici

challenging dark emotional informative slow-paced

Nothing short of astounding. I have always had a suspicion as to why William Morris adored the Middle Ages as a utopian era, and clearly relation among the sexes must have been more cohesive during the High Middle Ages. Silvia Federici has developed a thesis that is mostly water-tight and introduces some ideas—enclosure, alienation from the body, early colonial race relations, and labor in the Middle Ages—that I want to explore further.
