I’m having such a hard time to rate this book. It is clearly a five star read to me! It’s emotional, it has a great plot, it’s interesting, it has high stakes, it is a setting that I absolutely love, it has many many great characters that don’t feel flat at all.
Bur the main characters, they really did a number on me. Of course they feel real and flawed and just overall great, but some of the things both Tag and Jay say are so not okay. I felt like after their one night stand, there should have been more of an apology and conversation about what happened and what triggered Tag to say such downright awful things to Jay. I was really shocked when I read the words. Later on when the stakes are really high and they have a hotheaded argument, I was able to understand why they both said such vile words to the other, but at the same time they were talking to the other and not WITH each other and it drove me crazy. Once again that whole situation wasn’t discussed enough afterwards in a way where I would have felt comfortable. There needed to be more apologizing and understanding the other.
Otherwise I can only say that this book is perfect. It was perfect to end this series here on such a banger, and for someone who was a theatre kid at school and so desperately wanted to become an actor but didn’t get to because it truly is a business of nepotism - this really felt extra special to me. I adore this series so much. And this one was most certainly my highlight. So I think I can overlook the flaws in the main characters and give it the five stars it really deserves
