Head Rush by Carolyn Crane

4.0

Finally, my happy end! And enough romance too!

SpoilerIt made me happy to see that I wasn't wrong about Shelby and that Carolyn Crane didn't suddenly change one of the most important characters in the story. ( For me at least, Shelby was important. I loved her hopelessness) And I also loved that Simon got a bigger part this time, showing that he's actually a good guy under all that muscle, tattoos and and otherwise unappealing sense of fashion.

Overall, I was finally happy with the work. As always I've been proven that a trilogy can't be seen in the individual books but always in the larger picture - it doesn't really make sense otherwise, leaving too many question marks, too many cliffhangers - and I appreciate that because I can only imagine how hard it can be for an author to maintain the same feel throughout what must be thousands of pages (counting manuscripts and drafts). The characters, the world... they're all so palpable and endearing that I feel sad to let them go...

But, yeah, I'm a happy camper, with her happy ending and all that's needed to make me perfectly content for yet another day in my pre-exam mania.
