Just Another Missing Person by Gillian McAllister

4.0

22-year-old Olivia was last seen on CCTV, entering a dead-end alley. The clock was ticking to find her before it was too late. The detective heading up the case, Julia, knew what to expect. However, she received a threat NOT to find out what happened, and she had to frame someone else for the murder. Her family’s safety depended on it.

I picked this up after discovering (and loving) Gillian McAllister’s Wrong Place Wrong Time. While this one unfortunately didn’t outshine WPWT for me, it was still a great thriller I really enjoyed.

I loved how we immediately jumped into actions right from the start. I was right there with Julia, wanting to peel all the layers to find out what had happened to Olivia. I was so worried about what would happen to Julia if her actions got found out.

The audiobook was great, with its multiple narrators. The different voices really added depths to the characters. I didn’t guess the whodunnit, even though once I realised who it was, I felt like I should’ve known! I loved the parent-child bonds in the story, which now I understand to be Gillian’s writing strength!

I can’t wait to see what Gillian will write next.
