In the Company of Witches by Auralee Wallace

emotional hopeful lighthearted mysterious relaxing medium-paced

4.5

Exactly what I'm looking for when I pick up a cozy, magical mystery - lovable characters, whimsical magic, and a cozy atmosphere that makes me want to climb into the book so I can also wrap up in a warm scarf and ride my bike through the crisp Autumn air of this small town.

While all of the witches can cast fun spells to help with their day to day tasks, each character has their own magical specialty and a distinct personality. I especially enjoyed Aunt Izzy and her ability to influence emotions by baking "intention" into delicious treats.

The mystery is fun and Brynn's character arc adds some emotional depth (I teared up at the end in the best way). I have also read the 2nd book in the series and I highly recommend it for more of the same feels.
