3.5 stars rounded up!

This one wasn't quite as strong as the other books I've read in this series. Now I liked Conner and Jamie, both as individual characters and as a couple.

But that's just it. I liked them, but I didn't love them. They didn't wow me. The chemistry was fine, but it wasn't amazing. It didn't pull me in, they didn't pull me in. I liked them and I liked their scenes, but I didn't love them.

I enjoyed Conner from the first book so I was excited to read his story. Unfortunately his story didn't excite me too much. It was all very....okay. Likable, for sure, but not like amazing. I rounded up because it was good, it was well written and I did enjoy these two together.

But I had to go with 3.5 stars because of me liking them, but not loving them. There wasn't enough there between them and the story for me to love it. It was slow at times as well and not much happened.

Jamie is there in LA for a few weeks, he and Connor fall for each other, then he goes back, they determine they want to be together, and Connor goes back to their small town to fight for Jamie - which is sweet, but he doesn't have to fight all that much.

Like the only real conflict was just making the choice to be together. It was obvious Jamie wouldn't stay in his hometown and it was obvious Connor was going to choose to be with Jamie and get over his few hang ups. It wasn't very surprising or exciting.

I did appreciate the lack of drama, though. They didn't manufacture drama for drama's sake, which is a nice reprieve in romance books. Still think real conflict can happen without it being manufactured. And it didn't have to be dramatic either, just hurdles they had to work through. Why present potential problems if they're not really gonna be problems in the end?

So overall I liked this, I enjoyed it at times, and it was a sweet, enjoyable story. But there just wasn't enough for me to love it, there was something missing, and the chemistry wasn't as good as it could have been. The sex scenes also left a lot to be desired. They weren't as steamy as they could have been. So I liked this....I just didn't love it.
