okay, so—
this book is very difficult to rate, so i’ve decided to rate some individual elements of it separately—
* The Art: 5/5 stars, simply breathtaking. like, wow. beyond stunning.
* The Writing: 2/5 stars. i hate to say this, but it was poorly written. i think it would’ve worked better had Manchester gotten someone to write it for him while he did the artwork.
the use of made up “curse words” was a bit cheesy for me, and in general Wesley talked like he was a young teenager, not like a seventeen—almost eighteen year old.
also, the transitions between POVs were clunky at best, and utterly confusing at worst.
* The Characters: 2/5 stars. they were flat and simply underdeveloped. it felt like Wesley only loved Linea because she was pretty? idk, that romance aspect really rubbed me the wrong way.

so, yeah. as an art book, this is showstopping. as a novel, it’s quite lacking. :(
