I was excited when my audiobook for Deadly Director’s Cut, book 2 in the Catskill Summer Resort Mystery series by Vicki Delany, came in. I had enjoyed book one and was glad to travel back in time to the 1950s and visit Haggerman’s Catskill Resort.
This time, famous (and difficult) director Elias Theropodous has chosen Haggerman’s Catskills Resort as a shooting location for his next film. It seems glamorous, but resort manager Elizabeth Grady is having to balance a lot of demands. But everything gets worse when Elias is poisoned during a dinner at the resort, the future of the film and the resort itself are on the line.
Elizabeth Grady is a great cozy mystery sleuth. She’s tough and not afraid to tell people what she thinks. The setting is vivid and the side-characters so likable. I just love this series.
