This story has been pretty controversial because of its colonizer romance angle. To me, it was more stockholm syndrome than anything else. Does that make it any better? Not really, and it doesn't help that the romance was pretty lackluster.
For such an interesting premise, the story is really boring. Not much happens and we are told about the assassinations instead of being shown it through scenes. The rhetoric is so repetitive that I stopped caring about the stakes.
