Deadly Gift by Heather Graham

3.0

This was the third book in the Flynn brothers trilogy. I would say it was probably the one I liked least of the three stories, but it was a passable paranormal fiction book, and an enjoyable read nonetheless.

When Sean O'Riley is taken ill shortly after arriving in Ireland for a vacation with his new and much younger wife, nurse Caer Cavannaugh looks after him so well, she's asked to accompany him back home to Newport, Rhode Island and nurse him until after the upcoming Christmas season.

There's more to Caer than meets the eye, and despite his growing attraction to her, family friend Zach Flynn is suspicious of her, and nearly everyone else in Sean's close family circle, as bad things continue to happen around Sean and nobody seems safe.

The story is okay, with some interesting aspects, although overall this is a very predictable story and if you read many similar books, you'll probably figure out what's going on without too much effort.

Still, Heather Graham writes very engaging characters, so if you like a character-driven story, with a bit of the supernatural hovering around the edges, this may be a series for you to consider. Although the books are a trilogy, each one is a stand-alone story, one for each of the brothers as they deal with otherworldly things, and find their true loves.
