Eli the Good by Silas House

3.0

Really this is a 3 1/2. A YA coming of age story set in the summer of 1976 about a thoughtful young boy living in small town KY. It's a book about how his father' s time in Vietnam affected his family years later. Lots of great writing. It was sluggish in the middle. Silas house is a favorite of mine. If you want to read a great new Appalachian author, check him out. Clays Quilt and Parchment of Leaves are my favorites.
