The Healing Party by Micheline Lee
4.0
I was really keen to read this novel by my colleague Micheline Lee, especially when I discovered that we had come from similar religious backgrounds. The characters in the story were relatable to me as I could identify such characters in my life growing up in the Pentecostal church. The conflict between "expected" faith and actual reality was developed beautifully.
I feel that the story ended quite abruptly which does actually fit with the events of the story, however as a reader I was left wanting. I would have liked to know what happened in regards to the relationships between Natasha, her sisters and their father following the eventual outcome.
I was captivated by the story and once I got into it, couldn't put it down.
Congratulations Micheline!
