The Underground Abductor: An Abolitionist Tale by Nathan Hale

4.0

Another in the Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales and I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. These snapshots into history are perfect for the youth (or adult) who wants to refresh themselves and delve a bit deeper into significant points of American History.
I thought I knew the story of Harriet Tubman but I really knew nothing. For instance, the inside cover shows many routes of the Underground Railroad, even parts in Texas! I thought it was confined to the North. I also was unaware that Ms. Tubman fought in the Civil War and actually led an attack (with others).
I look to reading as many as these as possible. The best part: sharing them with the kids and getting them excited about history :)
