Drowned Worlds by Lavie Tidhar, Jonathan Strahan, Paul McAuley, Charlie Jane Anders, Ken Liu, James Morrow, Kathleen Ann Goonan, Jeffrey Ford, Kim Stanley Robinson

3.0

This a competent but frustratingly unremarkable theme collection. Many other collections of short stories around a theme are extremely uneven with some great fiction and others that are very pedestrian or fail to engage properly with the central idea. This goes the opposite way, where a lot of great authors engage in their own very specific way about "drowned worlds".
And yet, it is no more than I imagined. Each work was good and yet felt like something I had read many times before.
So whilst not something I will not regret reading I don't think any individual piece will stick with me much beyond a few days.
