The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

5.0

I don't know how I missed the whole Aslan-is-basically-Jesus thing on my last read, but it was very obvious this time around. Though it didn’t bother me so that was good. This was a great read and I'm glad I decided to read the entire series, even the books I've read before. It's a sweet story that values humans a bit too much. And I was once again struck by how great a job the adaptation did. It might be my favourite adaptation of any that I've seen. Might watch the movie again.

I've been meaning to read this book for a long time. I really like the movies and I wanted to read the original story. I wanted to know how faithful the movie was to the book.

The movie was very faithful to the book. More than any other movie I've see that was based on a book. There were changes. But they were the necessary ones.

Although, while reading this book, I felt that it should have been made into an animated movie. Because in reality, it's a fairytale. It would've been really good to watch because it has such a warm, childlike, Christmass-y feel to it. I wish some had read me this when I was little. It has this innocent and happy feel to it.

My favourite part, though, is the dedication. It was so cute and heartwarming. I really loved this book and it was not-at-all disappointing.
