Big Red Tequila by Rick Riordan
3.0
I am a fan of Riordan's mythology-based works, namely PJO, HOO, KC, and MC. But as I grow up as a reader, my love for adult novels prevailed over my love for YA's. Riordan is one of my favorite authors, and I was excited to read his first (adult) novel. Did it disappoint?
It did.
Characters ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The best aspect of the book, and probably the one that saved it from being completely boring.
Writing ⭐⭐.5
Not that bad, it's just not engaging. I also didn't like its wordiness.
Flow ⭐⭐.5
Maybe it's just me, but this book felt sluggish and dragging.
Ending ⭐⭐⭐
Eh. It's okay.
Overall ⭐⭐⭐
Yawn.
...but I'm willing to give the next book a go. The series might be actually great as a whole, it just has a not-so-good first book.
It did.
