Visions by Kelley Armstrong

4.0

A strong follow-up book to OMENS, which focuses not on searching for the truth behind the serial murders protagonist Olivia's parents have been convicted of committing, but on the supernatural doings of the inhabitants of Cainsville, and their connections to Olivia. Interesting choice on Armstrong's part, to construct a slow developing friendship (and perhaps romance?) between Olivia and damaged shady lawyer Gabriel (who also has connections to Cainsville), but to give Olivia a hot sexual fling with another man because Gabriel is nowhere near ready to consider the possibility of engaging in anything more than a working relationship with Olivia. Lots of Celtic language/lore to be explored here, with rival supernatural factions developing. Which will Olivia ultimately choose? Or will she find a way to combine the two, and avoid repeating the tragic story of Matilda of the Night/Matilda of the Day? Definitely looking forward to book #3...
