Um yeah, I didn't like this novella. It was too dark. It also had a lot of just messed up stuff in it that was too dark. I know its supposed to be about the villain and while the story is very well thought out, its just not for me. There is a lot of talk about affairs in the royals and a scene where there is spice but not described, just inferred.
