Glitterland by Alexis Hall

I honestly didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did. I mean, the whole opposites attract trope is cute but so overdone and the Essex accent was almost unreadable at first. But then I kept reading and wow does this book absolutely nail it. The way it portrays mental illness is honest and thoughtful and the sheer power of the raw, unguarded emotions had me in tears more times than I’d like to admit. A solid gut punch right to the feels and definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year.
We are all a little broken, but if we’re really lucky the universe may send us our own sweet and earnest glitter pirate to hold us tight when we’re at our worst.
