Fear Street # 63
Oh no! This 'Ghosts of Fear Street' has a gem of gross-out horror in it, but the plot revolves around our cousin protagonists running afoul of a Romani fortuneteller. Cascone, the ghostwriter for this one, does not use Romani and makes some statements that are pretty offensive. I know there are those of you out there who may think I'm being over-sensitive and that it's not a big deal, but anyone can play the "Is it appropriate?" game by replacing the g-word with any other minority or ethnic group when it comes up in the text. Does it make you flinch? Then it's not okay.
The book only had one decent scene in it anyway, so it's no great loss to skip this one.
Fear Street in Publication Order
Next #64: 'A New Evil', The Fear Street Sagas #1
Previous #62: 'Secret Admirer', Fear Street #36
